Terrific Taupōx
It was a sunny day, well at least at my house. Hi, I’m Willow. I went on a holiday for two days in the second verse of holidays term two with my family Mum, Dad, Leo (My dog), and Finn. Were all going to Taupō where we’ll do fantastimazing things.
The event was a little sudden, one night while we were eating dinner I randomly said we need a break. I want to go on holiday. So mum and dad organized something. But first we had to get there, which most people hate but I love long drives. Just peering out the window watching farms and towns go by, occasionally reading a book. Open the window and feel the air rush on your face spreading through your hair. When we got to about halfway it started hazing down. I forgot what the road was called but something amazing about it was it had wild Kaimanawa horses. That kind of stole all my attention like a tornado scooping up everything in its path. Horses are tied with dogs as my favorite animal. So when I hear about either of them my heart literally skips a beat. I scanned the clearing beside the road for any sign of horses but didn’t see anything. When we got to our cabin-house holiday thingy majingey whatever we put our stuff in our rooms and went to the back yard, it was beautiful about half the size of our backyard at home but it was still quite big. Dad came out with a black bag. He unrolled it and inside were five black balls. “Look what I found in the house, you two were in such a rush to get outside that you ran straight passed.” He said in his bragging voice that at the same time was heroic. I gave him a cheeky look. “What are they?” Finn said cluelessly. “There- “BOWLING BALLS” I interrupted. “Yes”. Dad said patiently. He explained how to play for what felt like a long time but was probably just a couple of minutes. We played for about 20 minutes and then mum went out to get pizza. My dad described it as the best he’s ever had. So did Finn, Mum said it was alright. I however did not like it. The herbs in it felt like they were prickles slicing through my gums and tough. |
